The Opportunity: Finance Technician
Join us as AWWD's Finance Technician. This position reports to the Utility Billing Supervisor as a member of the District's Administration, Technology & Finance Department and is responsible for helping us to achieve our mission, vision and values through the continual development and implementation of the District's customer service, utility billing, accounting and performing cashier work on a rotational basis.
The Finance Tech will regularly provide service over the phone and in-person at the front counter regarding customer accounts, perform research on customer accounts or payments, accept and process payments received in various ways, manage escrow inquiries and final bills, process and track permits and applications related to side sewers, meters and water use and create service orders to check for water leaks, lock and unlock meters, verify meter readings and other service requests or follow-ups.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing all tasks related to customer service and customer billing, setting up new accounts, refunds, collections, calculating adjustments, balance and post daily payments, balance cash drawer and reconcile to payments.
The ideal Finance Tech is proficient in performing a variety of calculations and paying attention to detail and accuracy. Customer service techniques and telephone etiquette is important in this role. Both written and oral communication must be clear and confidentiality must be maintained in this position.

The pay range for this position, dependent upon classification (Finance Technician I or Finance Technician II), experience, and qualifications is:
· Finance Technician I – $29.74 - $39.86 per hour, with a starting pay range of $29.74 - $34.43 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
· Finance Technician II – $31.83 - $42.64 per hour, with a starting pay range of $31.83 - $36.85 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
