About the Role
This Automation Engineer II position is responsible for engineering projects related to manufacturing processes, process optimization, new equipment investigation, and onboarding.
You will be part of the Technical Operations department located in Fargo, ND, and work on-site. You will report to the Manager, Process Engineering and Automation, who oversees Automation and Manufacturing-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engineering and automation projects from investigation through implementation and release.
- Create project summary reports and present findings and recommendations to internal or external customers.
- Perform technical investigations related to manufacturing deviations and excursions associated with automated and controls systems.
- Support functional automation manufacturing requirements through process and equipment design, testing, and commissioning.
- Act as a Technical SME for implementing equipment, software, or automation improvements related to corrective action and performance improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Bioprocess, or Mechanical preferred) or a Scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology preferred), and 4 years of experience in automation, engineering, networking, or Computer System Validation.
- Experience with either Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Emerson PLCs required.
- Experience with HMI design, SCADA, DCS, and/or site-scale control strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Biologics GMP manufacturing and processing requirements.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for biologics manufacturing.
