Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in our retail environment, ensuring that customers feel welcomed and valued.
Duties
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Upsell products and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and maintain stock levels.
- Assist in restocking shelves and organizing merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and throughout the store.
- Supervise junior staff or assist in training new cashiers when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and performing retail math calculations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being self-motivated.
- Experience with cash handling procedures is highly desirable.
