The Accounting Specialist performs a variety of accounts payable work, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting related records.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and validate electronic payments for A/P and escrow transactions
Process all desktop and external bank deposits for all bank accounts (A/R, IOLTA, Misc)
Overflow of A/P and escrow transaction(s) handling
Create and maintain reports as requested by management
Respond timely to inquiries from internal clients (employees)
Providing support to accounting staff during month-end close
Manage mail handling for department
Perform other duties as needed
Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of payroll practices
Working knowledge of Ceridian Payroll Systems (Dayforce)
Working knowledge of HR paperwork processing
Extreme attention to detail
Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change
Must possess good organizational skills
Initiative and willingness to pitch in where needed
Accounts Payable experience desired
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least two years of accounting/finance related work, preferably in a legal environment
