Purpose:
The Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal will assist and provide a range of support to attorneys and other legal professionals engaged in the firm's practice of representing financial institutions in foreclosure, residential real estate or mortgage law. A precise attention to detail, the ability to work under strict deadlines, and the capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities are required for this position. The environment is fast paced with an emphasis on individual performance and team-oriented goals.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative and clerical support
Organize and maintain files in the case management system
Complete various attorney projects
Enter and manage data entry through various systems, including third party systems.
Assist multiple attorneys with day to day case management, court filings, including electronic filing, and client updates
Assist with drafting correspondence, pleadings, briefs, motions and proposed orders
Assist with preparing discovery requests and responses
Assist attorneys with trial preparation
Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy
Assist with revision of templates as requested
Organize and track case files and ensure case management system is updated
Other duties and special projects as needed
Job Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Ability to efficiently plan and prioritize multiple tasks
Possess good organizational skills and attention to detail
Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change
Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Team player and willing to provide assistance in multiple areas whenever is necessary
