Position: Chief of Police / Director of Safety and Security. (2024-2025 school year).
Compensation Plan: Administrative/Professional Pay Plan, PayGrade 5, 236 days/12 month calendar
Reports to: Superintendent
Primary Purpose:
Provide for the safety and security of all students, faculty, visitors and property within the Aledo ISD by leading the Aledo ISD Police Department and the development and implementation of safety and security and emergency management policies, procedures and plans district-wide. Lead, manage, and coordinate operations of the Aledo ISD Police Department as part of district-wide safety and security program. Maintain and enforce municipal, county, and state ordinances and laws as well as policies, directives, and standards of district.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Texas Peace Officer license issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to manage personnel
Knowledge of the overall operations of a police department
Knowledge of criminal investigations, police report writing, and criminal law
Strong communication, public relations, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills
Ability to research, develop, and implement
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, state mandates, district policies and procedures and to develop and manage a department budget
Knowledge of and training with Emergency Operation Plans
Experience
Background in law enforcement and emergency management with at least five years of administrative and/or command-level experience.
