Primary Purpose:
Oversee all district construction and facilities operations and functions, including building improvement and new construction and maintenance, bond program planning and implementation, and grounds and custodial services. Supervise all district construction and facilities staff and manage and direct and manage the work of the district-hired custodial and grounds contractors and consultants and contractors engaged in facility improvement and construction in the district.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to design and construction standards, dissemination and verification, budget compliance and time management, including construction schedule preparation and monitoring. Responsible for organization, scheduling, and budget development for AISD bond programs and project execution.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Professional License in field preferred
Experience in construction, engineering, or architecture and management of facilities and construction; bond program planning experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to communicate articulately in written and verbal form
Ability to assess needs, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and generate and implement processed, procedures, and plans
Ability to assist and lead strategic planning
Ability to prepare bidding documents, including but not limited to notice and instructions to bidders, drawings, and specifications
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical design and installation criteria
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to management, parents, and taxpayers
Ability to understand, review, and approve construction financial documents, budgets, and pay applications
Proven ability and skill to manage construction projects
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with building codes and zoning ordinances
