Aleknagik Technology, LLC is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Experiential-Based Learning Facilitator to support the Center for Character & Leadership Development Support Service.
Experiential-Based Learning (EBL) Programs through the Center for Character & Leadership Development Support Service (CCLD) Instructor of Adventure/EBL due to physical and spatial safety requirements.
Duties

- Demonstrate Senior-level knowledge in EBL concepts.
- Assist in the development, review, and production of program documentation and curriculum to include instructor handbooks, lesson plans, assessments, and Outdoor Leadership Complex (OLC) Operating Instruction or procedures
- Serve as the liaison for groups prior to program day - coordinate scheduling, logistics,
- administrative recording duties (i.e. calendar inputs, POC correspondence, program tracking inputs, etc.)
- Collaborate with Mission Element (ME) representatives and observe ME practices to integrate EBL methods to support mission objectives, as assigned
- Attend periodic staff and management meetings
- Perform pre-event practices, walkthroughs, and logistical rehearsals to ensure successful EBL program(s) execution.
- Follow Operating Instructions and site-specific training to include alignment of language and actions to AF and USAFA core values and other CCLD priorities within scope of practice.
- Instruct EBL lessons/curriculum to CCLD customers at the OLC and other designated
- locations (i.e., classrooms, gyms, conference rooms, other outdoor spaces), to include hands-on execution of program requirements, instruction of skills, guiding experiences, and emergency response for all program types.
- Design and deliver training of and oversight for additional facilitators supporting the OLC and EBL programs, as assigned.
- Assisting event execution teams in meeting required milestones.
- Perform routine OLC course safety and maintenance inspections.
- Perform minor repairs and submit/oversee work orders for more complicated repairs, ensuring industry standards (ACCT) are met.
- Plan, manage, and execute projects that support CCLD institutional events, such as the
- National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS), and Profession of Arms Lecture Series, not to exceed eight events during the period of performance.
- Minimum one year experience in outdoor education or experiential-based learning and event organization (types: ropes course, teambuilding, experiential-education, education workshops/webinars).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in outdoor education, leadership, or similar disciplines plus three years' experience applying concepts and working with groups in developmental environments
- Knowledge of curriculum development and event execution is desired.
- All must be able to perform good data, scheduling, and program management skills and familiarity with common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and move for extended periods of time on uneven surfaces, and ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds of gear or program equipment.
- Credential Requirements
- Two positions must be filled by an individual who possesses knowledge and skills equivalent to an Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Level 2
- Practitioner certification and can retain or obtain an ACCT Level 2 certification during employment. Contractor is allowed up to three months to obtain certification after hiring.
- One (seasonal) position must be filled by an individual who possesses and maintains an ACCT Level 1 practitioner's certification or equivalent experience.
- All positions must maintain a Basic Life Support (First aide, CPR, AED) or Wilderness First Aide certification.
- Climbing Wall Instructor Certification desired but not required.
- Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) certification required. Contractor is allowed up to three months to obtain certification after hiring and is available through the ELBM.
