Provide quality assurance leadership in support of our end-to end quality systems by implementing and managing the quality of Groupo AlEn products in the USA, meeting the objectives and indicators to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, as well as the quality and safety standards, processes, and services in our warehouse and 3rd parties, copackers and customer shelf in stores.



Essential Functions:


Provide overall quality assurance leadership and support for project initiatives as a core member of a project team. Provide QA support and mentorship for initiative related activities such as consumer, material qualifications, validation, sales samples, and product launch activities including:

*Provide Quality oversight and final disposition of product for distribution, shipment disposition.

*Development, management, and maintenance of quality systems

*Provide Quality oversight of product inquiry and product complaint system.


Proactively collaborates with other supply chain and leaders to develop strategies, operational plans, and to facilitate the resolution of issues in support of commercial and maintenance activities.


Responsible for coordinating and implementing internal and external inspections to identify defects and compliance issues and reports them to stakeholders in time and follows through on all findings ensuring all issues are properly addressed and proper corrective action has been implemented. Inspections to be performed include:

*On final products to assess quality and compliance to company standards

*Validating first production run at copacker New Products, generate control plans and visual aids for production processes, and monitor the implementation to ensure the quality and safety of the products during and post launch.

*Performs out quality audits plan and execute it to our warehouses, Copackers warehouses and shelves from stores, ensuring the quality of our products and correct rotation.

*Evaluate and audit suppliers and co-packers through audits of their processes and finished products to guarantee compliance with raw materials and finish product specifications to either accept or reject products.

*Daily interaction and collaboration with production to identify the day's shipments to ensure timely verifications and inspections.

*Responsible for identifying defects and have the authority to report product defects at any time.


Responsible for effective and timely communication to all stakeholders including on:

*metrics, trends, and data summaries to senior management as part of Management Review.

*significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements or solutions.

*Guides to business unit functions to improve operational metrics and plant P&L.

*Lead monthly reviews with the Marketing Team to ensure prompt response to consumer issues.

*Monitor and provide reporting on KPI’s and metrics, while collaborating with

Operations and Maintenance to continuously improve.

*Follow quality metrics relevant for Management Review and prepares and reports trend reports and summaries.


Gather, review and disseminate material master data. Drive positive behavioral changes with regards to requesting and searching to materials, and ongoing continuous improvement activities.


Review contract negotiations for potential customers (specifically to review of sections pertaining to quality, product disposition and customer shipment dispositions), as needed.


Operates as PMO/Cross functional lead in the event of a market action.


Ensures compliance in the safe handling of hazardous materials and waste.


Revamp & consolidate current consumer feedback channels into one wholistic database giving AlEn the full 360 picture of consumer sentiment (800#, social media, Amazon, & other sources, ie Fresh Desk)


Establish aggressive KPIs around consumer and customer quality response cycle times.


Promptly resolve consumer & customer concerns and escalates when necessary.


Responsible for consumer & customer warranty claims processing and resolving quality concerns.


Supplier Approval Process - Assessments, Audits and Approval for purchased products and components.


Travel to all company sites, copackers and customer/vendor sites as needed. Approximate of 30% travel.


Monitor customer rejections, share reports for the Logistics, Sales, and Quality areas, analyze the data and hold meeting with the areas to generate the actions to follow and thus be able to reduce rejections.
