The Position

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to manage the Quality Assurance department’s operations including the sampling, inspecting, testing and releasing of incoming raw materials and finished goods. Implement and improve Alene’s quality systems to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and customer requirements.

The Location

We are located a t 8860 Smiths Mill Road, Suite 100, New Albany, OH 43054. This is an onsite position.

Additional Job Details

  • Assure site implementation, communication and maintenance of Alene Quality Management System and report on the status of the system to management as required.
  • Assure compliance of direct and indirect reports to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assure strict adherence and compliance with all processes and procedures through internal audits and data review.
  • Oversee the sampling, inspection, testing and release of finished goods and incoming raw materials and the timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Oversee the hiring and training of department personnel with cross training and succession planning as a key focus. Ensure the maintenance of the department cross training matrix recording the training completed and future planned / required training.
  • Analyze inspection data to measure, assess and improve product quality and verify compliance to record keeping and throughput requirements.
  • Assure the ongoing reduction of product non-conformances using SPC methodology and other tools to improve production efficiencies and reduce waste and rework costs.
  • Drive site Corrective Action and non-conformance process to ensure true root cause is identified and effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Review, track and reduce customer complaints through effective CAPA activities.
  • Drive the site MRB process to ensure timely disposition of materials.
  • Drive implementation of the company’s MRP system within the quality department and work to assist implementation across the site.
  • Establish appropriate Quality Assurance goals and develop metrics to effectively measure departmental and quality system results. Distribute quality trend data at periodic intervals. Prepare and present reports for Management review.
  • Apply mentoring and coaching skills to motivate and guide employee development and encourage employees’ advancement.
  • Develop and review site SOP’s and work with other facilities to standardize processes across sites.
  • Revive and maintain the internal audit process.
  • Develop the department’s annul budget and manage expenses and purchases accordingly.
  • Responsible for the storage and maintenance of the site’s quality records.
  • Assure compliance of direct and indirect reports to all safety policies and procedures.
  • and verify compliance to record keeping and throughput requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science or related technical discipline preferred. ASQ certification or a combination of work experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 8 years of Management experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory, R&D, and / or other related field in a manufacturing environment.
  • 4 years demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar system requirements is preferred
  • Six Sigma and Lean knowledge a plus.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and be able to interface in a positive manner with management and team members of all levels to achieve the organization’s objectives.
  • Experienced in sampling plans, statistical techniques and SPC.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to summarize and communicate results clearly.
