Responsibilities
Operational Initiatives
- Work closely with the Office Leaders to develop synergies and collaboration amongst the locations.
- Partner with other regional leaders to develop and implement strategies for operational efficiencies that support the sub-region and Alera Group around common goals, vision, and values.
- Work in conjunction with Regional Operations Lead to develop a strategy and execution of the sub-regional initiatives.
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the sub-region’s goals and objectives.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline sub-regional processes and use of resources and materials. This includes the coordination/collaboration of agency management systems.
- Ensures that sub-regional decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the sub-region and Alera Group’s business plan and vision.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, and standards to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
People/Culture
- Support the attraction and acquisition of talent within the sub-region and Alera Group offices.
- Actively support development of internal talent through development programs designed to improve efficiencies and knowledge.
- Motivate and lead a high-performance team, providing mentoring and training as a cornerstone of career development.
- Lead and promote office, sub-regional, and Alera Group colleague engagement initiatives that support a culture of collaboration.
- In conjunction with regional leadership and HRBP, manage sub-regional recruiting efforts, interviews, hires, and provides mentorship to management-level staff
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports and manages sub-regional review process.
- In partnership with regional management and HRBP, manage colleague discipline and termination process in accordance with company policies and practices.
- Identifies learning and development needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
Strategy
- Stay current on competitive operational strategies and best practices within the industry.
- Identify emerging industry strategies via networking with external partners, research, and internal partnerships to ensure subject matter expertise and the ability to proactively respond to market changes.
- Collaborate with leadership and HRBP to establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the sub-region’s operations initiatives.
- Engage with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying guidance on operations projects and systems.
Integration
- Take a leadership role in the integration of new Alera Group offices within the sub-region.
- Provide a clear, consistent regional onboarding that is coordinated with the national onboarding and integration process and the central onboarding team to accelerate new office operational integration.
Compliance
- Ensure all sub-regional operation activities comply with federal, states, and local laws in which the company operates and that the company is maintaining the highest ethical standards in business and personal relationships.
Key Performance Metrics
- Achieving sub-regional revenue and EBITDA targets
- Recruiting, hiring, and development of sub-regional talent
- Execution of operational initiatives
Qualifications
Education
Candidates will be required to have a bachelor’s degree in business or related disciplines such as finance, accounting, operations, marketing, or communications. Proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
Functional Experience
Alera Group is looking for a strong business and operationally oriented professional with experience in insurance or financial services industry with a carrier, broker, or consulting firm. Successful candidates will have likely progressed through a variety of operations roles.
Industry Experience
Strong knowledge of insurance and financial services regulatory requirements. Experience in the insurance, financial services, and/or professional services industries is critical.

COMPENSATION
The successful candidate will earn a base salary and an attractive annual performance bonus
Additional Information
This role has expected travel into the Easton, MD and Silver Spring, MD locations with remote flexibility.

Salary range is $125K to 150K per year.

Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
