What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIS - Key Account Manager position at Alera Group, Inc.?
This position is responsible for providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to clients, producers and company personnel. The Key Account Manager serves as the direct link between the company and its key clients, servicing existing claim/benefit inquiries and resolving day-to-day client needs, as well as strategizing with the producer at renewal and new business opportunities.

- Assist clients’ employees with day-to-day questions that arise with regard to employee benefit program
- Promptly identify and resolve claim/billing issues, working with the employee and the insurance carrier
- Promptly respond to all employee and company contact inquiries
- Assist callers with questions regarding their company benefits
- Assist in all areas of the enrollment process, including initial writing of the group policy, eligibility, qualifying events, terminations, quoting, proposals, and plan design clarification
- Continually grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge
- Work with Insurance Carriers regarding plan renewals, contract changes and other matters
- Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts
- Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development
- Prioritize workload and/or request assistance as required
- Meet with clients to discuss and handle their insurance needs
- Assist prospects with producer
- Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts
- Maintain the core values of the benefits department honor commitments, be organized, be thorough, be helpful, and be prompt.
- Provide training and mentoring to peers

- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Frequently sit for long periods of time.
- This is a position that requires appropriate business casual apparel.
- Responsibilities include travel to local client and carrier locations during the work day, as well as possible but rare out of town travel.
- Candidate must have insured vehicle and be legally eligible to drive to client meetings.
- Responsibilities may include transporting enrollment materials to and from renewal meetings.
