The Alera Group is a leading agency that serves the Central Vermont and North East Kingdom regions. With offices located in Montpelier, Danville, and Bethel, we strive to build strong working relationships based on trust and personal attention.
We are seeking an Account Manager I who will positively impact our reputation and revenue by delivering exceptional service and proactively evaluating, advising, and placing coverage to retain existing accounts and attract new ones.
This role will be a Hybrid opportunity working out of our Danville, VT location one week in office and one week from home.
Responsibilities:
- Support processes, procedures, and agency best practices.
- Understand each client's decision process and goals.
- Achieve a minimum of 94% client retention and work toward 98%.
- Conduct thorough proactive reviews with High Value accounts annually and other multi-policy accounts at least once every three years.
- Be proficient using IT programs and resources pertinent to your position.
- Be viewed as a model for the behaviors and attitudes consistent with the Alera Group brand.
- Show understanding of how your personal work habits impact the agency's overall performance.
- Seek professional development opportunities and feedback throughout the year.
- Complete and review applications, renewal requests, and endorsements for compliance with underwriting authority and guidelines.
- Be proactive in handling accounts.
- Be consistent and thorough in your documentation.
- Be viewed as a team player by your colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred.
- Insurance Producer License required.
- Personal lines account management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of markets, policies, and products.
- Excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Problem-solving skills.
