What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at Aleron?
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Support: Assist in the design, testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
- Technical Interpretation: Interpret basic engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to support project goals and ensure accuracy in the development of prototypes and equipment.
- System Troubleshooting and Debugging: Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust various tools, equipment, and systems to meet performance requirements.
- Experimental Design & Data Analysis: Conduct statistically-based experiments to define and optimize process parameters. Analyze, organize, and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and improve processes.
- Process Improvement: Implement and document complex solutions for process improvement based on experimental results and root cause analysis.
- Tooling and Fixture Design: Design and construct basic tooling and fixtures to complete unique tasks, ensuring they align with project requirements and enhance efficiency.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document and report on findings, process improvements, and modifications to ensure clear communication with engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations support, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and to resolve technical challenges.
- Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Engineering Technician.
