Alert Healthcare is providing mobile and other healthcare services to residents and organizations throughout Rhode Island. We are currently looking for a per diem On Call Response Cardiac or Paramedic for overnights, weekends and holidays. This is an on-call from home position with an on-call rate paid to the applicant to be available if needed during the set times and a rate for the applicant if a response was warranted during those set times.
We provide off hours clinician coverage to a group of RI Community Members. The role of the On Call Response Cardiac/Paramedic would be to be available during specific hours in the event a visit to a community member was needed for a medical complaint. The On Call Responder would be notified about the visit from an Alert Healthcare Nurse and be provided with all the information needed. They would leave their home and safely travel to the community members home. Once there, properly assess the patient and contact a dedicated Program Provider who is overseeing the community members care. A care plan would then be discussed and decided on and the On Call Responder would then treat the community member appropriately in their home or contact emergency services so community members can be transported to a higher level of care.
Job Duties:
- Visit Types- Sick Visits or possible check in visits.
- Clinician will be responsible for possibly providing the following during a visit:
- Lab Draws
- Medication Reconciliation
- Basic vital signs
- Patient Assessments
- Medication Administration
- Obtaining and Transmitting 12 Lead ECG
- Urine Collections, COVID/Flu/RSV swabs
- IV Medication Administration or Hydration
- Documentation for each patient encounter
- Other miscellaneous tasks within the Cardiac or Paramedics scope of practice.
- Must be willing to work independently in the community while still maintaining an open line of communication regarding patients and patient care with a provider.
- The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and clinical assessment experience.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, the care team and providers.
- Use reasoning skills and good judgment
Education, Experience, and Licensure and Hire Requirements:
- Clinician must live in the state of RI (Warwick and surrounding towns preferred, but not required)
- Currently licensed/registered in Rhode Island. Must maintain an active EMT- Cardiac or EMT-Paramedic license in good standing throughout employment.
- Two (2) years experience required as either EMT-C or EMT-P.
- CPR certification upon hire. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
- IV Experience (obtaining and starting), lab draw and Medication administration experience required
- Obtaining 12 Lead ECG experience is preferred, but not required.
- Provide Immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TDap and Hep B)
- Provide Background Check
- Provide a clean Driving Record
- Complete a TB test and Fit Test upon hire
Specific Job Information
- Hours- Monday thru Friday 1630-0800 and weekends/holidays 0800-0800
- Hourly Wage for Response- EMT-C $30/HR and EMT-P- $40/HR
- On Call Rate (to be available during the hours above) Monday-Thursday $5/HR and Friday thru Sunday $10/HR- If a call comes in the clinician would be paid hourly wage until the response is completed. Clinicians will be paid hourly on call rate regardless of any or no calls coming in during their scheduled shift
- First In bag, Zoll monitor and O2 bag provided during shift.
- Company Vehicle and Fuel Card provided during hours of operation.
- Possible candidates must be willing to pick up a minimum of 3 shifts a month.
