Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR professional to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes at our engineering consulting firm. This role will support a team of 100 employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws, fostering a positive work environment, and aligning HR strategies with organizational goals. This individual will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top engineering, manufacturing and support talent.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
- Partner with team managers to identify staffing needs and create effective job descriptions.
Employee Relations:
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture through communication and engagement initiatives.
- Manage disciplinary processes, investigations, and terminations in compliance with legal standards.
Performance Management and Development:
- Oversee performance review processes, providing tools and guidance for managers.
- Implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Work with department heads to create career path strategies and succession planning.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures as needed.
- Handle audits and reporting for HR-related matters.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend competitive compensation structures to retain talent.
- Manage annual benefits enrollment and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
HR Systems and Reporting:
- Maintain HR databases and systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of records.
- Generate reports and analytics to support strategic decision-making.
- Track metrics such as turnover rates, headcount, and training hours.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of HR experience, preferably in an engineering, technical, or consulting environment.
- Certifications: Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HR software (e.g., ADP, BambooHR, or similar platforms).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with occasional travel for recruiting events, training, or conferences.
