Alexander Barnes is leading the search for a Financial Crime Compliance Manager to join a rapidly scaling FinTech transforming the corporate credit and payments space.
This role will oversee key financial crime compliance activities, ensuring the business adheres to AML/CTF regulations while maintaining operational efficiency.
As the primary figure for the U.S. Financial Crime team, you’ll provide expert guidance, manage regulatory risks, and support a high-performing compliance programme.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance: Act as the subject matter expert for financial crime escalations and ensure compliance with AML/CTF requirements, including 314(a) reporting, OFAC obligations, and high-risk reviews.
Risk Assessment and Controls: Maintain and update the AML/CTF risk assessment, identifying and mitigating emerging risks. Ensure policies and procedures align with regulatory updates and feedback from audits.
Investigations and Reporting: Review suspicious activity reports (SARs) raised internally and support the MLRO or BSA/AML Officer in regulatory filings. Coordinate responses to law enforcement enquiries and partner bank requests.
Team Collaboration: Share insights on financial crime trends and risks with internal teams, contributing to a culture of compliance excellence. Participate in team-wide initiatives to enhance processes and effectiveness.

- USA PATRIOT Act: Sections like 314(a) for information sharing.

About You
Experience: 3-5 years in BSA/AML and financial crime compliance, with a proven ability to make independent, risk-based judgments on investigations.
Skills: Exceptional communication skills for engaging internal teams and external stakeholders. Critical thinking and attention to detail in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Attributes: Confidence to ask questions and suggest improvements. Proactive, adaptable, and efficient under pressure.
Salary : $140,000 - $170,000
