Summary:
The Regional Quality Management Director (South-East) works with the South Division-Jonesboro and Nashville Construction Operations to manage the organization’s Construction Operations Quality Management Processes. They will also work with Special Projects Operations in those regions. Core responsibilities will be forging positive relationships with Operations Leadership and Project Teams in those specialty groups, assisting them with implementation of QMS procedures, monitoring implementation of those processes, and periodically reporting to the Corporate Quality Director and/or Operations Leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and participate in Preconstruction QMS Processes.
- Help Project Teams prepare agendas and conduct Building Envelope Coordination Meetings.
- Work with Project Teams on Pre-installation Meetings for critical/high-risk features of work.
- Participate in Project Review Meetings.
- Help Project Teams prepare for and implement the Warranty Process.
- Train new employees on the organization’s QMS.
- Assist Project Teams in troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving Quality and Warranty issues.
- Travel to offices and project sites within the region regularly. (Note: Projects out of the Nashville office cover multiple states in the Southeastern US. Expect to travel to these jobsites at minimum once per quarter.)
- Train Special Projects-Project Managers and Lead Service Craftspeople on Daily QMS documentation.
- Review project Daily Logs.
- Travel to Special Projects offices and project sites within the region regularly.
- Participate and represent the organization in industry organizations dedicated to Construction Quality.
- Attend online and in-person classes and seminars to stay current with Construction Quality, Building Envelope, and General Construction design innovations, new products, and certifications.
- Assist in the development of tools and processes that impact long-term Quality goals.
- Willingness to take ownership of, promote, and execute Quality Risk Management Initiatives and processes.
- Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external teams and individuals.
- Commitment to bring value to internal customers with each site visit, meeting, process, etc.
- Schedule and manage a small team to meet specific goals and deadlines.
- Exemplary communication skills. Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of Construction Professionals; conduct and lead meetings; conduct training of individuals and small groups.
- Maintain a customer service and support mindset.
- Work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and concurrent responsibilities.
- Interact with leadership, external client organizations, consultants, and vendors.
- This job is safety-sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Education/Skill Requirements:
- Self-motivated. Must have a passion for and a belief in Zero Defect philosophy.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in structural, civil, architectural engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred or commensurate commercial construction experience in the field.
- 10 years of Commercial Construction experience.
- Professional licensure and/or advanced technical certifications in Building Science, a plus.
- Project management or Superintendent experience, a plus.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work in a constantly changing technical environment.
- High level of comfort and experience with Information Technology and Construction Management Software or ability and willingness to learn.
- Experience in and thorough understanding of construction processes.
- Thorough understanding of fundamental elements of Building Envelope design and construction.
- Thorough understanding of Construction Documents.
- This position requires driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company or a company vehicle; therefore, the applicant must successfully complete a motor vehicle records check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, and immediately self-report convictions/violations/tickets to the DOT Compliance Specialist as per Company Policy. Any negative change in the status of the employee’s driving record may result in the revocation of the employee’s privilege to drive for the company.
Salary : $175,000 - $195,000
