Alexander Rose are partnered with a Top GC in Charleston, SC seeking an experienced and dedicated Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale site development projects. This role combines project management expertise and hands-on leadership to ensure successful execution of Site Development construction projects, with an emphasis on quality, safety, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall execution of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring all activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management on project progress, timelines, and potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve project challenges or delays in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor and manage project costs, tracking expenditures to avoid budget overruns.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the accuracy of design, plans, and specifications.
- Enforce safety standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and conduct regular site safety audits.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors within budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects, including Site Development.
- Proven experience with large-scale projects such as roads, utilities, and other site work.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to lead multiple crews and oversee a diverse range of project elements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, construction codes (OSHA), and construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of earthwork, soil conditions, grading techniques, and GPS machine control is a plus.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, surveys, and specifications.
- OSHA certification and a strong understanding of job site safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites as needed.
