Alexandria Animal Hospital is seeking to hire a practice manager who preferably has at least 5 years experience in a veterinary hospital. Management experience and/or prior participation in a leadership role is also desired.

What you’ll do:

Initially work with our current part-time manager to orient yourself with our practice philosophy and protocols as she transitions to a smaller role in this area.

Exhibit our practice mission statement and core values on a daily basis and collaborate regularly with practice owner regarding management tasks

Recruitment and hiring of support staff as well as initial onboarding of new staff

Staff scheduling: planning for optimal staffing that results in maximum productivity/efficiency as well as overseeing attendance tracking and managing coverage for callouts/absences.

Oversee training of support staff and orchestrate performance reviews in collaboration with practice owner and any other teammates in leadership roles.

Oversee/regularly review inventory purchases to assure costs are well controlled and pricing is optimal

Help develop and support other staff members as they take on various leadership roles in the practice

Plans and coordinates regular staff meetings and employee continuing education

Mediation of personnel issues/conflict resolution with fairness and objectivity

Point of contact for client concerns/complaints and communication with practice owner regarding these issues.

Help staff troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise

Additional management/leadership duties delegated by practice owner including, but not limited to, creating benchmarking reports, internal and external reconciliation/audits, additional HR tasks, and updating practice employee manual/protocols as needed.

Veterinary professional WITH 5 years' experience in the field who is able to communicate with clients and teammates with ease and thrives in a busy atmosphere.

Individual with a friendly, out-going, people-oriented personality who has an attention for details and is skilled/confident in conflict resolution as well as difficult conversations.

An individual with a positive outlook, humility, and willingness to learn & wants to be part of a team that feels like family.

Comfortable with Windows based computer programs, practice management software, Microsoft Word/Excel.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
