Alexandria Insights is seeking a motivated Junior Technical Editor to support a Marine Corps acquisition program by ensuring high-quality documentation across a range of technical and programmatic products. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in writing and editing who are interested in applying those skills in a structured, mission-focused environment.
As part of a document quality assurance team, you'll help ensure that all deliverables meet Department of Defense (DoD) standards, Marine Corps guidance, and internal style requirements. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of acquisition-related materials and work closely with program managers, engineers, and analysts to support effective communication and documentation across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and edit acquisition documents, briefings, and correspondence for grammar, clarity, consistency, and format compliance.
- Ensure alignment with relevant standards including SECNAVINST 5216.5, the GPO Style Manual, MCO 5216.20B, and PM TCE internal templates.
- Assist in maintaining document templates and style guides.
- Track and organize document workflows, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
- Support quality assurance across program documentation by maintaining consistency in terminology and presentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of editing, writing, or quality assurance experience in a professional or academic setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong command of grammar, punctuation, and editorial best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Teams is a plus.
- Comfortable collaborating in a team environment and working with technical subject matter.
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.
- Familiarity with DoD or government writing standards.
- Experience editing technical, policy, or procedural documentation.
Salary Range: $40,000–$65,000
Location: Stafford and Quantico, VA (on-site support required)
Clearance: SECRET (must be eligible)
Status: Contingent upon contract award
