This is what you will do :
At Alexion, we investigate rare diseases and work in a collaborative and cutting edge environment to deliver breakthrough medicines for rare disease patients. In Research, our role is to identify and validate targets that are implicated in disease pathology using multiple experimental approaches such as; phenotypic screening, cell line engineering and utilizing bioinformatics to make informed decisions about the development of therapeutics.
We are seeking a summer research intern to join our Cell Sciences / High Throughput Biology lab. The candidate will be lab-based and conduct assay development experiments to support target ID, validation and in-vitro disease modeling. The candidate will learn high-quality research techniques and contribute to the successful evaluation of pipeline targets that will ultimately transform patients lives.
You will be responsible for :
- Performng activities and lab experiments, include but are not limited to : Literature review, experimental design and executionCulturing primary and immortalized cell linesAssay development and optimizationPhenotypic screeningData analysis using advanced computational and visualization software
- Adhering to experimental protocols to execute experiments and work closely with scientists from cross-functional teams
- Presenting results at group meetings, as well as document experiments in electronic laboratory notebook system.
