Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Position Overview:
The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for procuring materials, components, and supplies needed for the manufacturing of fire trucks and emergency vehicles. This role requires a understanding of the supply chain process, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, ensuring that our production lines are always well-stocked with high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers of materials, parts, and equipment for fire truck manufacturing.
• Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
• Place and track orders for parts and materials, ensuring that inventory levels are aligned with production schedules.
• Monitor lead times, negotiate pricing, and manage procurement budgets to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to understand material requirements and address any supply chain challenges.
• Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Track and maintain accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, and vendor agreements.
• Conduct regular market research to stay updated on new suppliers, pricing trends, and industry best practices.
• Manage and resolve any discrepancies related to product quality, delivery issues, or invoicing errors.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activity, cost savings, and vendor performance for management.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards when procuring materials.
• Assist in the development and execution of inventory management strategies.

Qualifications:

• College degree is preferred
• 1 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
• Experience working with mechanical, electrical, or firetruck-related parts is highly preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with purchasing software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of fire truck or emergency vehicle specifications and regulations is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or making phone calls.
• Occasional visits to suppliers and production facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.50 per hour
