What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Apparel Designer position at Alexis?
We are seeking a Senior Apparel Designer to join the creative team at ALEXIS , a high-end women's ready-to-wear brand. The Senior Designer will be responsible for creating and executing on-trend, cohesive collections that align with the brand's aesthetic and vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women's fashion design and experience leading a design team.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Lead the design process for the brand's ready-to-wear collections, including concept development, sketching, and prototyping
- Collaborate with the creative director and other members of the design team to ensure collections are cohesive and on-brand
- Research current fashion trends, fabrics, and materials to inform design decisions
- Oversee the selection of fabrics and trims for the collection
- Work closely with the technical design team to ensure that garments are properly constructed and fit well
- Attend fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure garments fit and function properly.
- Communicate effectively with the Production department, to ensure that designs are executed properly.
- Oversee and work closely with the Atelier team of Pattern Makers, Cutters and Sewers to ensure that all sketches and BOM are executed correctly. Also focusing on the timeliness and accuracy of the process in the sample room and through production.
- Supervise and mentor junior designers and interns
