Aley United Methodist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio, has an opening for the part-time Church Facilities Manager to oversee the operation of the church's two-building complex. The position needs a qualified person who is a "hands on" when it comes to managing the facilities.

The Aley United Methodist Church Facilities Manager is an hourly part-time position of 20 hours per week. The Church Facilities Manager is accountable to the Lead Pastor and through the Lead Pastor is responsible to the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC.)

The person in this position works closely with the pastors and program staff to accomplish the mission of the church; provides detailed information and guidance to staff, committees, and teams; works especially closely with the Trustees.

The Church Facilities Manager supports the mission of the church to Love God, Love People and Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.

Schedule

The Church Facilities Manager is expected to maintain office hours in coordination with the Lead Pastor.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Three years of demonstrated experience in facility management across multiple disciplines, such as HVAC/boiler systems, security systems, ordering supplies and dealing with vendors.
  • Graduation from a community college or career technical school in a relevant discipline.
  • Project management experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

A. Facility Management

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all facility or property-related issues. Works with the Trustee Committee that is responsible for ensuring the general upkeep of the main church building and the Activity Building.
  • Coordinates and manages contractors and services; vendor compliance with contracts as directed by the Trustee Committee.
  • Maintains project budgets and timelines within agreed upon standards in coordination with the Trustee Committee.
  • Raises issues/risks to the Trustee Committee.
  • Responsible for and oversees preventive maintenance, unplanned equipment/property maintenance, service contracts, insurance records, and the inventory of church assets.
  • Raises legal and tax matters to the proper committee for consideration as pertains to the church parcels.
  • Creates and maintains a church volunteer team with various skills that are useful in maintaining Aley facilities.
  • Follows the weekday checklist to open the main church building, inspect the church grounds and perform checks in the Activity Building.
  • Accepts calls from potential vendors and informs the Trustee Committee as necessary about what they offered.
  • Answers incoming phone calls as needed.

B. Security

  • Maintains a good relationship with the City of Beavercreek, Beavercreek Fire Department, Police Department, and Greene County authorities.
  • Along with the Trustee Committee, ensures that all policies, such as, Safe Sanctuary, the Security and Emergency Policy are in place and being updated as needed during annual reviews as required by the West Ohio Conference.
  • Supervises the church’s alarm system, building entry codes and keys to the church building.
  • Ensures that the main building alarm system vendor has an updated access list.

C. Meeting Attendance Requirements

The Church Church Facilities Manager is required to attend the following meetings:

  • Trustee Committee
  • Church quarterly full staff meetings and once monthly office chat.
  • Other committees as requested.

D. Miscellaneous

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor and/or SPRC.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.95 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
