This internship will provide a highly motivated and curious undergraduate/postgraduate student an opportunity to support Greenwood Service Operations in a repair shop environment with 2 key assignments to be delivered during the Summer 2024.

Assignment 1
As part of the team, you will:
- Develop and create a metric around our OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of our factory equipment.
- Create and develop a measurement that factors in our Availability, Performance, and Quality of machines.
- Collect and document accurate maintenance data and downtime information on all equipment.
- Utilize the standard templates and apply Industrial Engineering principles.
- Collaborate with both shop floor employees and management to collect accurate information and achieve the best results in these areas.
- Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Conducts themselves in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
- This assignment will allow you to learn more about mechanical engineering to challenging real life applications. In addition, you will learn about the safety, quality, delivery, and costs of manual machines.
- Support the team to develop Standard Times measurements for the product repair.
- Collect time data for key manufacturing processes like machining, welding, painting etc. by using the standard templates and applying Industrial Engineering principles.
- Collaborate with shop employees and management to perform data analysis and participate into benchmarking exercises for the said processes.
- Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Conducts themselves in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
- This assignment will allow you to learn more about Capacity Vs Load in the factory and how standard times can play a very important role into that.
This role requires a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree program (other relevant engineering fields will also be considered).
- This program is designed for students that have finished their sophomore or junior year.
- A GPA minimum of 2.5.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint).
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.
- Strong team collaboration and interpersonal communication skills required, to include verbal and written skills.
- Candidate must be adept at taking direction, work well within cross-functional teams, be curious to learn, and be customer focused. Safe work practices, proper ethics, and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
