General Position Summary

As a Site Supervisor employed by Alff Construction, you will monitor the progress of projects with clients while ensuring compliance with construction safety regulations. You will supervise construction workers and subcontractors, educate construction workers on site safety practices, and evaluate employee performance. You should be detail-oriented, hands on and knowledgeable of general labor equipment and construction safety regulations. You will be able to interpret site routes and demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

This role will have sound knowledge of general construction and construction safety regulations, extensive knowledge of law service for commercial properties, working knowledge of construction tools and equipment. This role will be responsible for outstanding leadership skills, ability to think critically to solve problems as they arrive. Additionally, this role will have excellent organizational and communication skills, strong project management abilities and the confidence to thrive under pressure.

Travel (% of work period)

As needed. May include overnight stays.

Job Functions

• Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
• Reporting to management the daily tasks delegated to your team.
• Ability to put together weekly schedule for crews
• Ability to lead 3 to 4 separate crews at a time
• Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate errors.
• Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
• Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
• Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
• Oversee day to day operations of the facility
• Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file accident reports
• Communicate with customers regarding products and services
• Set project goals and oversee projects to completion; schedule and track assignments
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years' supervisory experience, Landscaping/snow removal preferred.
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be 21 years old
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, writing and understand English.
  
  

Computer Skills:

• Quick learning ability for new database programs, proficient navigation of communication platforms (such as GPS Mobile Application, etc.), and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs
