Join Our Team as a Senior Roadway Designer!

Help us shape safer, more connected roadways and highways across Florida, ensuring our infrastructure meets the unique needs of the state’s cities and towns while enhancing the quality of life for the neighbors we share them with. In this role, you’ll collaborate with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies on impactful infrastructure projects. As a Senior Roadway Designer, you will lead the development of engineering models, conduct analysis and design, and prepare supporting calculations and documentation. You’ll also play a key role in coordinating project elements and mentoring others, ensuring our designs align with Florida’s vision for improving transportation safety while maintaining functional operations of our roads and highways.

The Change You’ll Lead

• Develop transportation plans aligned with FDOT and local agency standards.
• Assist in the development of other Technicians and Designers, as directed and needed.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and designs for quality and accuracy.
• Perform calculations and provide design recommendations based on sound engineering principles.
• Maintain project drawing databases with precision and attention to detail.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet deadlines and ensure quality control.
• Collaborate with project managers to deliver client-focused solutions while upholding AlfKa’s standards.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 14 years of roadway design experience working with FDOT and local Florida agencies.
• Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Solid understanding of the FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a collaborative environment.
