POSITION SUMMARY :

Assist with Preschool program activities as well as guiding / helping the children adjust and grow within the program guidelines. Help to design and implement an early childhood curriculum in compliance with Maine's Early Learning Standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Responsible for a group of children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.

Assist with implementing daily curriculum / routine for children to follow.

Assist with all classroom activities including set up and clean-up of activities as assigned.

Follow all program procedures and guidelines in conjunction with the AYCC standard operating procedures and DHHS guidelines.

Comply with and participate fully in the instruction of arts and crafts, games, music time, story time, bounce houses, weekly special activities, and education programs.

Ability to observe child behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce relevant safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :

High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE :

Must be 18 years of age

Some proven experience working with groups of young children.

Attention to details

Excellent communication skills along with the skills necessary to work with groups of children made up of different ages (3 to 5 year olds) and skill levels.

Maintain confidentiality

Ability to work independently

Flexibility

Emotional and mental maturity

A clean driver's license is beneficial.

WORK SCEHDULE :

Monday - Friday / 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm

Salary Description

14.65-$16.48 per hour

Salary : $15 - $16
