What Success Means In This Position
The Teacher position is an exempt 10 month position. Algiers Charter approach to teaching and learning embraces a continuous improvement cycle that focuses on practices through planning, doing, reflecting, and revising. Our schools are moving to a more complex conceptual framework of analyzing, synthesizing, hypothesizing, understanding and creating connections on a daily basis.
Responsibilities and Duties
Accurately track student attendance, student progress, and behavioral concerns.
Regularly and professionally communicate with parents/guardians and general education teachers.
Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities.
Provide Talented Music programming according to the IEP for identified students.
Maintain IEP compliance for the assigned caseload of students.
Attend IEP meetings for students on designated caseloads.
Complete and submit progress reports according to the deadline given.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Master’s Degree in Music
Experience Required: A minimum of one year of successful experience working with students in the area of Talented Music.
Certification: Valid Teaching Certificate in Talented Music

- May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
