This is a seasonal outdoor position open May-October. Flexible scheduling. Weekend availability a plus Algonquin Golf Club is looking to add team-oriented individuals with a passion for the game of golf and course management to our staff. This position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work with a team andor alone, and a willingness and desire to learn all aspects of golf course maintenance. This position will assist the course maintenance staff in day-to-day operations, performing daily responsibilities at a high level while incorporating safe working practices. Potential candidates will be capable of following instructions as given and adopt the culture of the department in behavior, work ethic and appearance. Responsibilities include Assist in the daily upkeep of the golf course grounds and landscaping, including mowing, edging, trimming, and maintaining sand traps and bunkers. Maintain golf courses by mowing, trimming, edging, and treating turf as directed by supervision. Operate and maintain basic grounds keeping equipment, such as walking mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles. Rake and maintain sand bunkers to ensure they are in excellent playing condition. Operates fly mowers to mow bunkers and lake bank roughs. Operates motorized trimmers to prune bushes, shrubs, and hedges. Keep course edged and pruned, edge cart paths, yardage markers, and drainage catch basins. Repairs wash outs on golf course. Repairing divots and course clean up. Follow all company, departmental, safety and security policies and procedures. Identify and report any course hazards or areas requiring repair to the management team. Work closely with experienced maintenance personnel to acquire knowledge and skills related to golf course maintenance. Follow the work schedule and completes job assignments as directed by supervision. Reports equipment problems or failures to supervision as encountered. Employees can expect to work up to 40 hours a week along with some weekends during the summer.
