This is a full time, year round outdoor position Algonquin Golf Club is looking to add team-oriented individuals with a passion for the game of golf and course management to our staff. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Technician to join our golf course maintenance team. This position requires knowledge of turf management practices, product safety, and the ability to operate spray equipment efficiently and safely. Potential candidates will be capable of following instructions as given and adopt the culture of the department in behavior, work ethic and appearance. Key Responsibilities Calibration, application, and the correlated record keeping of all plant health applications Follow precise application instructions and schedules to maintain optimal turf health and prevent pest or weed infestation. Maintain detailed records of chemical applications Operate and maintain spray equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during any applications Monitor weather conditions to ensure optimal spraying conditions and prevent drift. Keep up to date with industry trends, new products, and best practices related to golf course chemical applications. Qualifications Previous experience with golf course spray applications preferred Valid pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one within the first year. required Strong knowledge of turf care, pest management, and spray equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of the importance of safety in all applications. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate and maintain spray equipment for extended periods. Ability to bend, lift 40 pounds above shoulders, and stand for long periods during the workday. Employees can expect to work 40 hours a week along with some weekends during the summer and 35-40 hours a week during the winter.
