GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE): |

Algonquin Regional High School is seeking a Math teacher, effective immediately, assigned to teach 2 sections of Geometry (CP), two sections of Algebra 1 (H), and one section of Algebra 2 (CP). The successful candidate will be eligible for continued full-time employment as a Math teacher for the entirety of next school year (2025-2026) and beyond.
As a member of the Math department, the person in this position will plan and administer the Math instructional program and classroom operation in compliance with guidelines and regulations determined by the administration and the Department of Education. They will create an environment that encourages learning and motivates students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to establish and continue a firm foundation to perpetuate the learning experience through post-secondary education and/or career opportunities. A key component of the role is collaboration with parents, staff, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential.

Work Environment: Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day, however there may be occasions for after school meetings. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
