Job Description:
The Director of Revenue Management position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations. The position supports the Senior Vice President of Operations and ALH's portfolio of 15 locations by coordinating the daily Revenue Management tools and processes. Work location is based in Houston, Texas. Remote work options are not available currently.
The primary functions of this position are to manage revenue strategies to maximize RevPAR and to optimize all ancillary revenue.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to Revenue Analyst/Manager to achieve and exceed KPI’s
- Organize weekly revenue strategy meetings with hotel teams
- Assure revenue strategies are implemented on properties and measure results
- Conduct owners/stakeholders’ meetings on property’s performance
- Analyze and critique hotel’s performance monthly/quarterly
- Utilize revenue tools and reservation systems for multiple brands and other Business intelligence tools
- Analyzes data and presents information by identifying trends and rolling averages
- Monitors and analyzes the competition daily to identify selling strategies and market trends
- Develops, maintains, updates, and stores information on approved tools,
databases, and systems
- Prepare reports to measure performance and strategy for future dates
Support Activities:
- Examines the needs and concerns of property owners, Vice President of Revenue Management,
hotel staff, and corporate support staff to determine opportunities or problem
areas and provide feedback in the development of policies, procedures, best
practice, and standards.
- Communicates with all necessary staff providing them the information relevant to the business needs of the portfolio
- Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with hotel management teams and corporate support staff.
- Collaborates with Vice President of Revenue Management to establish specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish department goals.
- Attends Revenue Management, Group Pick-Up, and workgroup meetings to understand market statistics, record minutes, discuss assignments and present findings from analysis.
- Provides support to Vice President of Revenue Management and properties in preparation for
Revenue Management meetings by gathering data and creating Revenue Management meeting packets. Prepares and presents minutes from meeting.
- Researches and responds to information requests from hotel staff and corporate support staff.
- Utilizes all properties management systems and web-based programs to adjust SRPs, inventory controls, LOS patterns, and to monitor group inventory changes in the CRS.
Requirements/Prerequisites:
- Hilton Experience: Prior experience in both Hilton limited-service and full-service operations is required.
- Preferred Brand Knowledge: Additional experience with Marriott and IHG is highly preferred.
- Market Expertise: Demonstrated experience in urban, convention, and airport market types is essential.
- Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with major hotel brands and/or third-party systems such as PMS, RMS, and CRS is required.
- Data Analysis Skills: Proficient in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting statistical data to develop strategies and actionable plans.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong mathematical comprehension is necessary.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of analytical experience in revenue management, data management, reservations, or front office operations is required.
