Designer (Full-time):
Our Designer role is responsible for leading complex, large-scale interior design projects, as well as virtual design to ensure that all design work aligns with the AHD’s brand of artistry and functionality. This role requires creative vision, project management skills, and solid foundation of knowledge regarding the design process. Our design team works closely with the Principal Designer, clients, and procurement to provide the highest customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead and oversee high-profile client interior design projects from concept to final installation, overseeing all aspects including design development, material sourcing, and client presentations.
Design Crafting: Collaborate with the design team to create intentional design concepts, mood boards, and presentations for client meetings. Assist in developing space plans, color schemes, and furniture layouts.
Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and providing expert advice to guide them through their project. Attend client meetings and take notes on feedback and preferences. Ensure that clients’ needs and requests are fully resolved and executed in a timely manner.
Material Sourcing: Research and source materials, fabrics, furnishings, and accessories. Assist in preparing design boards and presentations for client approval.
Site Visits: Regularly visit project sites to oversee progress and ensure that design plans are executed to the highest standards and according to approved client proposals. Update designs, as necessary, as construction progresses.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the design team to ensure smooth project execution and maintain high-quality standards. Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and our procurement department.
Problem-Solving: Address any challenges that arise during the design process, finding creative solutions that maintain design integrity and client satisfaction. A constructive and solution-oriented attitude are instrumental in the successful execution of our design projects.
Skills
At least 1-2 years of residential interior design experience (consultations, renovations, space planning and/or new construction)
Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
Skills in a rendering software such as AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Revit or Chief Architect
Excellent communication skills.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). Hours are M-F from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00/6:00 p.m. MST. Must have a reliable car and live in Utah. Office is located in Provo, UT.
