As a Senior Backend Engineer at Alias Intelligence, you will architect and build the scalable infrastructure that powers our next-generation background investigation platform. Your expertise will ensure our systems can handle 2x our current volume with improved reliability while supporting advanced automation capabilities that dramatically reduce turnaround times for our clients.

• Design and implement architectures to support our automation initiatives
• Ensure robust infrastructure capable of handling increased workloads from automated processes
• Develop performance monitoring systems to identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Create failover and recovery mechanisms to maintain 99.9% uptime for critical systems
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment
• Mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Data and AI teams
• Devise elegant solutions to complex challenges and contribute innovative ideas in an entrepreneurial environment.

• 4 years of experience building and scaling backend systems
• Expertise in TypeScript/Node.js or Python backend frameworks
• Experience with AWS serverless infrastructure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background in implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions
• Knowledge of security best practices for sensitive data handling 
• An undergraduate degree in technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Applied Math, Operations Research, or Engineering) is required.
• Excellent communication skills, conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively orally and in writing.
• Self-starter who can work independently, meet deadlines with minimal oversight, and thrive in a team environment.
