Founded in 2021, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is a nonprofit, four-year MD program enhancing traditional medical education with the arts, humanities, and whole health principles. The School’s culture embraces self-care to empower students to care for their own well-being as well as their patients’. The School’s state-of-the-art medical education facility is under construction in Bentonville, Arkansas on the Crystal Bridges campus, home to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Heartland Whole Health Institute. The School has been granted preliminary accreditation status by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.

About The Position
The Alice L. Walton School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Statistician to join our team. This role is integral to our assessment, curriculum, and evaluation efforts, contributing to continuous quality improvement across various domains. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to advancing medical education and research.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions Specific to The Position:
- Assessment: Collaborate with faculty and staff in the development, implementation, and measurement of our assessment system.
- Data Analysis: Perform statistical analyses using appropriate software and techniques to support research and evaluation projects.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations of findings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of educational programs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to support the integration of statistical methods into various projects.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to faculty, staff, and students on statistical methods and best practices.
- Research Support: Collaborate with faculty and students to design studies, analyze data, and interpret results.
- Master's degree in education psychology, statistics, biostatistics, or a related field is required
- Ph.D. in education psychology, statistics, biostatistics, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in statistical analysis, preferably in an education or higher education setting.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, or SPSS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in a medical education setting
- Experience with large datasets and advanced statistical techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
