PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Enforces all policies and procedures relating to the ordering, receiving and distribution of supplies by the department throughout the institution. Assume responsibility of all inventories.

- Maximizes the use of MEDITECH information system to control all storeroom inventory. Coordinates ordering, receipt and distribution of all items in all inventories.
- Responsible for physical organization of all inventory items.
- Maintains and assures adherence to internal purchasing control procedures. Monitors and assists other departments in following established purchasing and requisitioning policies.
- Responsible for picking and recording of all items from Materials Management stock for department inventory replenishment.
- Maintains and assures compliance with internal purchasing and inventory control procedures.
- Assures the timely processing of inventory requisitions so as to minimize out of stock situations while maximizing the economy of the ordering process.
- Responsible for item turn rates in all inventories.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge and familiarity with items and serving as resource to other departments in this regard.
- Meets with and maintains relationships with other departments.
- Receives and ships supplies and equipment according to established procedures. Reconciles purchasing documents.
- Issues and delivers supplies and equipment to hospital departments. Conducts physical inventories.
- Receive supplies and equipment matching to purchase orders.
