- POSITION STANDARDS
- Graduate of a school or Physical Therapy School approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in New Hampshire. No previous experience necessary.
- Must have thorough knowledge of principles, literature, standard practices, methods and new developments in the area of physical medicine.
- Age of Patients Treated:
- Current BCLS certififcation required within 30 days of hire.
- Computer competency as needed for position.

- Position Objective
- The Staff Physical Therapist evaluates and treats all assigned patients referred to Physical Therapy as directed by the patient's referring physician or dentist. Is under the supervision of the Physical Therapy Supervisor or the Department Manager.
- Performance Expectation
- Evaluations
- Responsible for the evaluation of all patients referred for Physical Therapy.
- Responsible for the completion and submission of all reports pertaining to the evaluation.
- Sees that all referral sources are advised of theraputic POC and updates.
- Treatment
- Practices Physical Therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department and patient.
- Confers with the persons most closely associated with the management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modification and /or progress.
- Enters appropriate charges for PT services rendered.
- Oversight
- Provides supervision of PT assistants and aides per APTA stands of practice and treatment under the NH Practice Act.
- Records, Reports and Communication
- Responsible for the preparation and submitting of department reports,
- Evaluation reports/summaries.
- Discharge reports/summaries.
- Progress reports to referring physicians and agencies.
- Current notes on all patients within the assigned area.
- Special reports as requested by the director or supervisor.
- Daily records and related notes as indicated.
- Assists department in maintaining inventory in ordering supplies and equipment.
- Professional Status and Public Relations
- Keeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Physical Therapy.
- Attends conventions, meetings or special courses whenever possible and shares with the department personnel information gained thereby.
- Prepares and gives talks to community groups who have made requests for same.
- Maintains good public relations with all community sources.
- Participate in planning and implementing new programs in the Physical Therapy Department.
- Care for the physical area and equipment related to Physical Therapy Department and maintain highest possible level of departmental cleanliness and safety.
- Attends patient related meetings as delegated by the PT Manager.
