Primary Purpose:
Provide ARD facilitation support to campuses in need. Due to the itinerant nature of this position, the work start/end time may vary based on the campuses being supported.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Texas Special Education Teacher Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with students with disabilities and with diverse needs
- Experience facilitating ARDs in the district software management system
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to work in varying/inconsistent locations from day to day.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a special education teacher
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Facilitate ARD/IEP committee meetings at various campuses and for student being educated at nonpublic schools. Document decisions made by the ARD Committee in compliance with state and federal law as well as district guidelines.
- Prepare ARD draft/proposal paperwork in advance of ARD Committee meetings.
- Review teacher ARD documents for completion and quality (e.g. IEPs, PLAAFP statements, transition services, supplements, etc.) and provide feedback to teachers.
- Prepare and analyze various reports (progress reporting, PEIMS verification, student rosters, etc.) in support of the campus.
- Ensure ARD/IEP documents are locked in a timely manner.
- Provide training and support to new or struggling campus ARD Facilitators.
- Continue to develop professional knowledge and skills related to special education compliance and best practices for students.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents, district staff, and nonpublic schools in order to prepare and facilitate for ARD/IEP meetings.
- Support campuses in the event the campus ARD Facilitator needs assistance or is absent for an extended period of time.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Schedule
Minimum teacher salary is $64,100
2025-2026 Teacher Salary Schedule
Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
Certified teacher sign-on bonus:
Certified Teacher - Any field - $4,000
Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Assignment) - $5,000
Bilingual Certified Teacher - $5,000
Certified Teacher with existing TIA Designation - $8,000
Bonus payment delivered in two (2) installments-50% (9/30/25), 50% (9/30/26)
Sign-on Bonus eligibility ends July 17, 2025
