Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage overall campus operations during the summer. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Summer Fest, including creating schedules, managing staff, maintaining and submitting payroll, and ensuring the safety of all stakeholders. Keep constant communication with parents about their students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in educational administration
- Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to observe and assess student and staff behavior
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies
- Ability to work with children with different needs
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Three (3) years of teaching experience, five (5) years preferred
- Three (3) years of educational campus administrative leadership experience, five (5) years preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Leadership
- Establish clear expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public.
- Monitor development and implementation of activities.
Strategic Operations
- Select, supervise and approve all personnel assigned to campus.
- Reinforce expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional goals and strategies, and classroom management methods according to district expectations.
Executive Leadership
- Comply with district policies, state and federal laws, and regulations affecting schools and school correspondence.
- Support and communicate the vision of Alief ISD.
- Abide by the Alief ISD Code of Civility.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance rate – 100% for Summer 2025.
School Culture
- Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Build and maintain a positive campus culture for all.
- Act as campus behavioral coordinator in accordance with state laws and regulations.
- Work with faculty and students to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior and enhances the school climate.
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly applied and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with all stakeholders.
- Serve as a positive role model for all stakeholders to support the vision and mission of the school district.
- Assure supervision and attend Summer Fest sponsored activities and events.
- Create an inviting, risk free, supportive, and warm school climate that encourages optimal student development and achievement.
Strategic Operations
- Develop and administer budgets based on documented program needs and estimated enrollment ensuring that operations are cost effective and funds are managed wisely.
- Oversee all reports, records, and other documents for management of assets.
- Manage use of school facilities. Oversee maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise all Summer Fest staff assigned to campus.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard office equipment
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; ability to respond and attend to emergencies anywhere on campus in a reasonable time
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds); occasional physical restraint of students to control behavior
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; exposure to noise; districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions
