About Alien Car Care

We are a small, family owned business striving to be the most recognized “one stop shop” in Southwest Michigan for reconditioning services on autos, boats, and more. We have been servicing local auto and boat dealerships for the past 15 years and in the past 5 years, we have infiltrated into the retail space with a brick and mortar property to extend our services to retail customers, while still maintaining our wholesale dealerships as well. Our excellent customer service, quality repairs, and variety of services have built a reputation in the community and our customers are continuing to spread word to others, steadily increasing our retail sales. This year, we have started a building addition to provide more space for our growing customer base and additional team members.

Being a small, growing company requires our team members to be flexible and wear multiple hats. If you’re a low-energy, unmotivated, couch lover- our spaceship might be uncomfortable for you. About You

We need someone who is an independent thinker/worker that is team minded and customer focused. Someone with a positive “can do” attitude that’s willing to put the team and company’s best interest first and has strong problem solving skills. This person should be genuine, trustworthy, responsible, driven and goal-oriented, self-directed, balanced and confident (we’re in the market for aliens not peacocks, so don’t be cocky!). This individual must have a current and valid driver’s license, reliable phone with voicemail, excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, strong problem solving abilities, and good vision (color, near, distance, peripheral, and depth perception).

We are looking for an individual with 2 years industry related experience. Our technicians are skilled in a number of repairs that involve buffing, wet sanding, plastic welding, color matching, paint touch up, headlight restorations, minor body work, windshield chips, and more. Inexperienced individuals that align with our vision and values that have automotive knowledge and are looking for a new career field will be considered for our apprenticeship training program.

About the Job

On a serious note…

We need a full-time reconditioning technician to service our wholesale and retail customers in a variety of repairs. Our technicians alternate between working mobiling, servicing used car lots, and working at our shop in Galesburg. This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, independently working under the instruction and indirect supervision of a manager, requires a large amount of physical mobility, and moderate amount of driving. This position involves the following (but not limited to) tasks:

• Interior Repairs such as: cloth and carpets, vinyl and leather, dyeing, odor and stain removal, hard plastic, and detailing

• Exterior Repairs such as: bumper repair, buffing and scratch removal, spot repair and blending, paint touch up, headlight restoration, windshield chips, and detailing

• Transportation of vehicles

• Servicing existing accounts based upon the written workload provided

• Ensure appropriate procedures and operating practices are being implemented

• Knowledge of services and basic knowledge of pricing structure

• Knowledge of repairs and ability to explain if needed to customers

• Proper completion of invoicing

• Clear communication throughout the day with team

• Consistently demonstrate corporate values

• Cleaning/Organizing of workspaces

• Miscellaneous job duties as assigned

About the Package

We’re a small company, but we want to pay our people fairly and provide the best benefits we possibly can. This position includes a base hourly wage ($13-15 /hr, depending on experience) plus monthly commission pay based on goals and production. We also offer a sliding pay scale which directly rewards you for the work you do. As a full time team member, you’ll also be eligible for the following benefits:

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
