Position Summary:
The Medical Records Ally is responsible for collecting all medical records and images to facilitate the completion of a remote expert opinion.
Essential Job Functions:
- Organize provider and facility outreach, pursuit, collection and upload of medical records into the internal database
- Outreach to providers and healthcare facilities in order to pursue medical records via phone call, fax, mail, electronic medical record system retrieval
- In conjunction with the clinical team, responsible ensuring complete medical records have been received to render an expert opinion
- Clearly documents efforts related to record collection and escalates delays to the team lead
- Manage case load by setting goals and sharing case priorities or escalations with team lead
- Upload records to appropriate internal platforms and databases
- Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within ConsumerMedical's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
- Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by ConsumerMedical for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Entry level position requires a high school diploma with experience in the medical field. Associates/Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Strong customer service skills,
- Strong telephonic communication skills requesting confidential medical information
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with medical record collection, maintenance of tracking logs, and collating records preferred
- Must be detail oriented, creative, and professional
- Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and knowledge of Adobe PDF software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, must enjoy working independently and in a team environment
- Must be comfortable with a fast paced, evolving operation
- Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
