Responsibilities for Receptionist/Chiropractic Assistant
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in an office environment
- Able to type 35 wpm minimum
- Welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English
- Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
- Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
- Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
- Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
- Keep detailed and accurate records of visitor requests and of calls received
- Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail
- Maintain the general office filing system
- Supports chiropractic care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment, and materials, and performs procedures under the supervision of a chiropractor
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patients for chiropractic treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into chiropractic apparel
- Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests
- Helps treat patients by applying heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, setting up on EMS and/or ultrasound, and setting up on spinal decompression
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area, positioning equipment for therapist access, and positioning patient on equipment.
- Maintains chiropractic supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies
