Oversee all inspection activities including Incoming, In-process and Final Inspections to ensure final product meets all Company and Customer requirements. Provide support for Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) Requests, as well as Return Material Authorization (RMA) Requests. Provide support when requested with Quality Engineering activities.

  • Perform inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications.
  • Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages and other. hand held measuring devices for open set ups.
  • Use an Optical Comparator for measurement of parts and characteristics.
  • Understand and perform to all current quality standards.
  • Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required.
  • Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up.
  • Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending.
  • Have a basic understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
  • Train others on inspection techniques and tools.
  • Provide support for issuing and managing CAPA Requests to suppliers and internally to the company when requested.
  • Provide support for issuing and managing RMA Requests to customers when requested.
  • Provide support for Continual Improvement activities and projects as requested.
  • Provide support to Engineering on interpreting Customer and Regulatory Quality Requirements as needed.
  • Provide support for managing the Customer and Regulatory Quality Requirements in company’s intranet site.
  • Perform safe operation of machines.
  • Accurately completes all required paperwork.
  • Keep machines and work area clean and organized at all times.
  • General maintenance of machines as needed.
  • Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.
  • Provide good feedback and promote good communication.
  • Promote and live company culture.

Note : Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Able to measure parts using a variety of inspection equipment (e.g. micrometers, calipers, gage pins, thread gages, etc.) to verify part features.
  • Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up.
  • Have a basic understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
  • Able to work Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) and on-line (Engineering Resource Planning – ERP) databases.
  • Accurately completes all required paperwork.
  • Able to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, vendors and customers.
  • Able to read and understand drawings, specifications, and AGPM documentation.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Previous experience with inspection techniques.
  • 1-2 years of CMM experience, PC-DIMIS desired.
  • Able to read and comprehend customer and regulatory specifications / instructions.
  • Able to read company correspondences and memos.
  • Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization as needed.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written instructions and common oral instructions.
