What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - Part Time - 2nd Shift position at ALIGN PRECISION?
Quality Inspectors oversee all inspection activities including incoming, in-process and final inspections to ensure final product meets all Company and Customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications.
- Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages and other handheld measuring devices for open set ups.
- Use an Optical Comparator for measurement of parts and characteristics.
- Use of portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
- Use video measurement equipment to measure part dimensions.
- Write programs for video measurement equipment based on parts and specification drawings.
- Understand and perform to all current quality standards.
- Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required.
- Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up.
- Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending.
- Have a basic understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
- Train others on inspection techniques and tools.
- Work closely with engineering to determine documentation and job requirements.
- Accurately completes all required paperwork.
- Keep inspection equipment and work area clean and organized at all times.
- General maintenance of inspection equipment as needed.
- Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.
- Provide good feedback and promote good communication.

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications
- Previous experience machining or programming required
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
