The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager at Align Production Systems is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain process, ensuring the efficient planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and products. This role focuses on aligning supply chain strategies with production goals, minimizing costs, optimizing logistics, and maintaining quality standards. The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will work closely with production and quality, managing the procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to streamline processes and enhance overall supply chain performance, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality outputs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Materials Planning and Inventory Control:
  • Develop and implement materials management strategies to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of all materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production plans and customer demand, developing and using Material Resource Planning
  • Procurement and Supplier Management:
  • Collaborate with vendors to source materials at competitive prices while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including developing alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Inventory and Storage Management:
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within the plant, ensuring proper handling and storage conditions.
  • Implement best practices for inventory organization, including FIFO (First In, First Out) and JIT (Just In Time) inventory systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for material handling and storage.
  • Organize and execute regular cycle counts to ensure inventory counts are accurately maintained
  • Logistics and Distribution:
  • Coordinate logistics and transportation to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials.
  • Manage the flow of materials between different plant locations or departments to meet production requirements.
  • Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve materials management processes, reduce waste, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management and report on performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Background and experience in accounting would be preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
