TECHNICIAN- LASER

As a Laser Technician, you will work with a team to fabricate mild steel, aluminum and stainless-steel welded assemblies, following blueprint and customer specifications within our Manufacturing division. Previous Bystronic Laser experience is highly preferred.

Requirements:

• Experience in laser fabrication, Bystronic laser preferred
• Works in a safe, efficient manner following all safety regulations.
• Manages time to complete tasks timely with no defects and minimal supervision.
• Experience with computers/programs and nesting.
• Ability to read blueprints and tape measure.
• Participates constructively with team in continuous improvement efforts.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites as needed for field service.

What you'll be doing...:

• Works in safe, efficient manner following all safety regulations.
• Limited supervision, managing schedule to complete tasks timely and without defects.
• Operate a Bystronic By Sprint fiber 4020 
• Use overhead crane and magnet to load and unload large steel plates 
• Typical steel ran is 7 -18 Gauge plate
• Participates constructively in team's continuous improvement efforts.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together components.
• Work with Engineers with programing and Nesting
• Performs detailing, layout, and preparation of parts prior to Fabrication.
• Performs rework and salvage procedures.
• Deburrs and cleans product prior to job sign off.
• Keeps accurate labor records.
• Performs material handling duties, including operation of forklift and overhead hoists.
• Maintains clean and productive work area using Align’s principles.
• Miscellaneous duties as directed by Plant Manager 
• Utilizes training to provide flexible support in other departments on an as-needed basis.
• Travel to customer sites for field service as needed.
• Works in additional areas as needed, such as mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, paint, welding, laser, reduction.
