Description : JOB SUMMARY :
The primary responsibilities of the Porter involve the upkeep of the property in order to enhance and maintain its curb appeal and maintain the cleanliness of all exterior areas of the property. They are responsible for general appearance and cleanliness of the physical property including building interiors and exteriors, common areas, amenity areas, office and grounds. May be required to travel, periodically. Also responsible for Housekeeping tasks and any other tasks that may be asked that are consistent and appropriate of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain a positive rapport with residents
- Perform housekeeping duties (i.e. ensure property is free from debris, cleaning responsibilities (rugs, furniture, fixtures, draperies / blinds, etc.), replenish restroom supplies in office and common areas)
- Landscaping duties as assigned (raking, mulching, watering, weeding, etc.)
- Lawn maintenance responsibilities as well as snow / ice removal, as directed by the Property Manager.
- Assist maintenance as needed. This may involve working in both vacant and occupied units.
- Facilitates best safety practices and compliance and provides an appropriately consistent approach to health, safety, and environmental issues. Adhere to all Fair Housing laws and regulations.
- Physically walks the property on a frequent basis and removes litter, debris and pet droppings from the grounds. It is especially critical that the following areas remain neat and free of litter at all times.
- Assists with various physical tasks as directed; e.g., tearing down fences, digging post holes, carrying abandoned sofas, etc.
- Assists with "make-ready" duties when requested by the manager or maintenance supervisor.
- Constantly observes condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately reports and / or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Adhere to all fair housing laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by management.
