DA/ Hygiene Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental/ Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Duties

• Assist the hygienist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
• Prepare and organize treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials.
• Take and develop X-rays as required by the dentist.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Ensure all dental equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained according to aseptic techniques.
• Support front office staff with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed.
• Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively in various procedures.

• Proficiency in medical documentation and understanding of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical coding practices relevant to dental procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.
• Experience with X-ray technology and protocols.
• Understanding of prosthodontics and endodontics procedures is preferred.
• Strong assisting skills to support dentists during complex treatments.
• Ability to adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
